In Nothing Flat
“In Nothing Flat” is an ongoing series of work attempting to recreate moments of perceptual inconsistencies. While the scenes may vary widely, each image is a recreation of perceptual wrinkles, fleeting moments in time where depth appeared flat before my visual cortex could “correct” it. Using the spatial fluidity of painting as a stand-in for the ebb and flow of my visual perception, I reconstruct moments where I saw depth and flatness co-mingle within my field of vision.
