Out of Order
“Out of Order”
I live with an unpredictable body that constantly shifts out of order. Yet, in my paintings I can embrace and even celebrate disruption as an invitation to strangeness. Order is replaced with the fluidity of intuition. I can grapple with each visual tangent as it unfurls, delighting in unexpected mutations without the need to reign them in or define their purpose. In the studio I breathe into the uncertainty, choosing to reframe it as possibility. Color and paint are active languages that allow me to wrestle with the complexities of abstraction and a body that refuses resolution.
